It all depends on your reference point. If you're on the earth, the earth revolves around the sun. Since most of us are on the earth (not counting the ones who are lost in space) , we see that the earth revolves around the sun. It's our position in relation to the sun--relativity. Einstein pointed out that there is no preferred observing system.
Therefore, to a person on the earth, the sun appears to revolve around the
earth. To a person on the sun, the earth appears to revolve around the
sun.
However, the equations are more simple if an inertial observing system is
used, e.g. a rocket ship passing through space at a constant speed and
direction. To that observer, the sun and earth appear to revolve around
their common Center Of Mass. This is a point between the sun and earth.
Since the sun is so much more massive than the earth, the Center Of Mass is
actually inside the sun. So the sun would appear to wobble as it rotates
around the Center Of Mass. The earth also rotates around the Center Of
Mass. If the person didn’t notice the small wobble of the sun, he would
think that the earth revolves around the sun.

Not many people could make those kinds of calculations or had any interest in doing so. People assumed that what they saw was true--the sun moved across the sky. It rose in the east morning, spanned the sky and set in the evening in the west. What could be more obvious? It took scientists to understand what was actually happening. Most people were not educated in science or higher mathematics or thought that what they thought they saw might be wrong. The idea that the sun moved fit in perfectly with their lives and their ability to survive. It took a long time for people to realize that what appeared to be true may not be. Even after it was explained to them many people did not believe it, and even the Catholic church denied it for centuries because it contradicted the bible, and people believed what the church said. The trouble, if we use the earth as the center around which the sun revolves, is that all of the planets traverse weirdly wobbly orbits, and all of the stars and galaxies are also wobbling strangely around the earth. Handyman, that’s why we’ve only known the solar system is heliocentric for the last 500 years or so. The idea is much older than that, of course, going back to the ancient Greeks, but no one could prove it until Copernicus. We didn’t start uncovering the laws of physics until Newton.
