Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus

Just finished this book by a new author. It explores the dark world of women in science before the 60’s revolution. It’s a really fun story, despite the real issues it explores. You’ll recognize the manipulative bosses, the weak middle managers, the head of the Catholic boy’s school, the teachers who tell girls that they aren’t fit for boy things, all the enemies of the hero of the story, a woman trying to have a career in science but ends up hosting a cooking show.

There is a movie coming out!

I dumped Apple TV before finishing this. I’m glad it will reach a wider audience, but it skipped a lot. Read the book.

The series really starts out lame. Improves a bit later but book is much better.
