HOW DARE YOU!!

Mriana, all our major coastal cities have been under water for years now. And we have less than twelve years before the world ends. According to consensual science and reports from fake news. Tell me were the Alarmist wrong. Are our coastal cities not under water? Have nations not been submerged by the oceans? Just on the face of these reports and the statements of what we should expect by 2012 on this website alone all the snow and ice on earth should have been melted by now. I would have to say someone is using false data or political data instead of scientific data. Why would people do that?

Climate Change is real. Nobody is saying it is not. And some day there will maybe be enough Climate Change that we can measure the affects of the Climate Change. Sure, we can measure the carbon in the air, but we don’t know how much heat the carbon makes and traps. What ever it is, it is NOT responding the way the scientists and computer models say it will. We will have hundreds of scientists retiring now that have spent a career making Climate Change predictions and not one them being correct. Are you sure that is a good idea to create public policies on a failed science.

As of today, the scientific datum points for the science have not been set. Or I should say that a good set of scientific datum points for the science has not been set. Every time they say they have a datum line or point they have to change it in a few years because the climate models prove the datum points were made up data to produce bias results. After thirty years of computer models. How much reliable data do we have that can separate Climate Change from Mother Nature. The answer is zero. The Climate Change scientists are being looked at as the Jessie Smalletts of the science world. And the people demonstrating in the street are being looked at as a major reason to cut college funding in America. Throwing money at education is just producing idiots.

Thus sayeth the modern day climate change denier. There is always a narrative of denial. Always the force for continuing the destruction.

Sounds very Alarmist. Do you have any science? Where are your numbers? Have you back any past predictions that have failed?

Have nations not been submerged by the oceans? Just on the face of these reports and the statements of what we should expect by 2012 on this website alone all the snow and ice on earth should have been melted by now.
How do you do that? How do you ask the very questions that you can't answer? I'm not going to chase you down on this, because it goes the same every time I have this conversation with an AGW denier. They insist the news is fake or whatever and keep challenging me with statements like this. When I finally get a quote, it's from an email from 1972 from a guy who works at Popular Mechanics. Meanwhile, the actual data, the actual 25 inch rise in the ocean continues on.

The claim that there is a 97% consensus among scientists that humans are the cause of global warming is widely made in climate change literature and by political figures. It has been heavily publicized, often in the form of pie charts, as illustrated by this figure from the Consensus Project. Forbes

Nobody is worried about anything from Popular Mechanics.

The IPCC projects sea level rise by 20 – 39 inches by 2100

National Climate Assessment (NCA) of the United States it is very likely sea level will rise between 30 and 130 cm by 2100

They are talking one-hundred-year sea level rise. And that is eight inches above the normal for the century. But, at the peak of the warm period cycle they really don’t know what the normal is. Unless the sea level rise picks up we will not make these predictions.

I tried to post the pie charts. Didn’t work.

Also, the trend of the 2100 sea level rise has been on a trend downward for years now. A decade ago, it was more than 20 feet.

So, there is a lot of old data floating around.

Mike Yohe said,

Depends on the peak and length of the warm period only. You are admitting that sea level is rising. Are you prepared to dismiss the possibility of a continual rise and flooding of low lying coastal communities, displacing millions of people permanently?

If this were to happen, it would be a global catastrophy. Let’s not take any chances, shall we?

Write4u, of course the sea level is rising. It has been on the rise for almost 90,000 years. Then it will fall back down in 10,000 years. That is 800 feet of movement. 400 up and 400 down.

Right now, we are in the intermediate part of the cycle and the hottest part of our ICE AGE weather. The earth is currently in an interglacial, and the last glacial period ended about 10,000 years ago. All that remains of the continental ice sheets are the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets and smaller glaciers such as on Baffin Island.

The good news is that some scientists think that maybe we are now out the Ice Age. The Pleistocene Epoch is typically defined as the time period that began about 2.6 million years ago and lasted until about 11,700 years ago.

If we can kick the CO2 up to 800 or a 1,000, we may not go into another Ice Age. The scientists that research Lags and Jumps say they have evidence that in the past the earth has changed cycles and experienced Jumps that changed the climate in as little as a decade. A Jump would most likely kill over half the people on the planet. And there would be nothing we could do about it. That is just one reason we don’t want the earth to cool down again. If we are out of the Ice Age climate, we want to stay out.

So, what causes the earth to go into the ice ages? We really aren’t sure. They are most likely the result of a complicated dynamic interaction between such things as solar output, distance of the Earth from the sun, position and height of the continents, ocean circulation, and the composition of the atmosphere. The idea was to get the computer models working and know what the hell is going on with our climate.

Yes, but it only has to go up to 410 feet at the high side (at its highest melt rate) for a large part of the earth to become uninhabitable.

Where is that error margin? Shall we understimate it, or build in a security measure by implementing very strict environmental controls to minimize the human impact on climate change?

That’s not what I was referring too, but to say the cities are underwater now isn’t quite right. We won’t feel the effects of Climate change for another 30 to 50 years. I think the alarmists misunderstand Climate Change.

Also, the trend of the 2100 sea level rise has been on a trend downward for years now. A decade ago, it was more than 20 feet.
Never have I seen this shown in any chart or study anywhere. I have only heard reports of isolated statements , often not peer reviewed, that don't indicate any kind of trend, they only show that isolated statements don't agree with other isolated statements. Now, if someone took pages right out of successive years of IPCC reports and showed a trend of being wrong consistently, then we'd have a problem. But I've never seen that, and I find it hard to believe no one has ever looked.

Besides, 20 feet compared to when? It’s up 25 feet since 1880 and the rate of rise is increasing.

Mike is already on to Climate Change Denial version 11.0.

In this ultimate version, all other considerations and arguments become moot. Because Mike explains that we actually need to INCREASE atmospheric greenhouse gases. He said “If we can kick the CO2 up to 800 or a 1,000, we may not go into another Ice Age.

It just goes to show you. You can’t win by arguing with a climate change denier.

When averaged over all of the world’s oceans, absolute sea level has risen at an average rate of 0.06 inches per year from 1880 to 2013 (see Figure 1). Lausten, that is 133 years times 0.06 inches per year. And that comes to 7.98 inches. This is 0.665 inches behind the Mother Nature’s natural sea level rise. Which is understandable because these things run in cycles.

Mriana, I was being sarcastic. Been following Climate Change for a long time now. None of the predictions were coming true. That cause the predictions to be moved to thirty years, then fifty years and 2100 seems to be the target today. By then the scientists making the predictions will be retired or dead.

The obvious questions come to mind. Why is the government letting this go on. I mean the alarmists vs. the deniers. It got me wondering if a few years back when the scientists started talking about climate Jumps that it may have scared Europe. If a jump happened, Europe would be mostly unlivable. Was the tax Americans and send the money to Europe for Climate Change part of a system to let Europe get ready to move to Africa? Thus, the open boarder policy. Can’t block the boarders if Europe may need to migrate. Now that the earth is warming the Climate Change push is slowing. And a lot of the regulations to cut carbon, really didn’t cut carbon in the overall picture. How could that happen? Just a lot of unanswered questions.

TimB, is Climate Change bad or good? Remember, Mother Nature is going to put cities under water, not Climate Change. A lot of land will go under water. And that will be offset by the Antarctic and Greenland becoming livable. If a city is going to go under water is it not like it is going to happen overnight. It will take hundreds of years. The cities will have to be rebuilt in that time period anyway. Just move to higher ground.

Be honest, what is better for the life on earth. An Ice Age or Greenhouse Earth?

@MikeYohe You are in denial. The predictions are coming true, but the thing is, what you are calling predictions is not what the scientists are talking about. They aren’t saying that cities will suddenly be under water, but they are saying that more extreme weather is and will continue to happen and eventually, with the ice melt, water levels will rise, causing coastal cities to be flooded and people will have to move in land. However, even moving inland has issues too because the Mississippi and Missouri rivers will also flood due to extreme weather. Extreme weather is already happening, as well as the ice melt. In fact, Alaska had a substantial and disturbing thaw this past summer. Again, you are either in denial or you don’t understand what the scientists are saying or you have some very bad sources.

If we don’t do some drastic changes by a certain date it will be to late. The Earth will be past the point of no return and there will be no saving earth.

We have been passed the point of no return three times now and the date just gets changed. What was your favorite date-of-no-return?

@MikeYohe It has nothing to do with the end of the earth and there is no precise date of no return, but rather temperature and polar ice cap melting. The earth will go on, but humans nor any other species will be able to live on the planet. It does have everything to do with rise in temperature and the melting of the polar ice caps. Increased melting with increased temperatures (1 or 2 degrees celsius) and we have even more extreme weather with heat waves (not short lived ones), flooding, extreme storms, and increased sea levels due to polar ice caps melting. It’s not the planet’s survival we need to worry about, but extinction, which we are already seeing with other species on the planet. Eventually, if we don’t do something, then the human species will die out because the planet won’t be inhabitable. Again, you’re not understanding what Climate Change is or what it involves.

Mriana, the predictions are not real predictions. The earth is in the warming cycle right now. I can make a prediction that the earth is going to warm. Big deal. Unless I can tell you how much the anthropogenic affect will be, it is of no value.

What do the experts say?

If you are a re-insurance company and you are going to insure 20-year construction bonds for financing a sea wall to be built in Miami and you are liable for the construction bond that the wall will last 100 years. So, what are your requirements? You are not going to insure it if you think the city will be underwater in 100 years. What are your construction requirements? Do you want it to be 25 foot high? These breaker walls are being built every day. And they can’t be built without a construction bond. I would consider these reinsurance pools the experts on Climate Change right now. And guess what, they are not much over Mother Natures natural sea level rise. Would you say that these reinsurance pools with hundreds of billions at risk, are just a bunch of Deniers?

I will leave you with a few links before calling it a night:

https://www.globalchange.gov/climate-change

I have more if you want them, but it’s not a doomsday thing, although the every species on earth is doomed as it gets worse, but not the planet itself. UNLESS, said the Lorax, humans care enough to do something about it before it gets worse and more species, including the human species goes extinct. Then again, maybe you don’t want to care, because when the earth eventually cools again, if it ever does, new life may form, just not humans.
