HOW DARE YOU!!

I’m not sure anyone understands what your topic is. Are you talking about the young lady who was upset with leaders not taking action about Climate Change or are you talking about Climate Change? As for the unsatisfactory response/resolution there isn’t going to be one, because in this case, you didn’t like a mod’s reaction/response and decided to report their post to the mods, in which the post was by a mod. That doesn’t make a lot of sense.

How you going to understand if you dont read?

Need a metric for CFI to measurer the performance of moderator

If I had not read, how would I know that at least one person asked what your point was and said they didn’t understand? That was what I was referring to and maybe therein lies the issue.

Player, try asking yourself, each time, before you post anything: “Will everyone who reads this, understand what I am saying or asking?” Then only send it when the answer is yes."

You and cc didnt read the link. If you had read the link you would see the discussion about Greta and the how the politicians and corporate media try to control the narrative on what she is calling for in responding to catastrophic climate change

Timb - tell me you don’t understand this after you have read the link

I don’t know what link ur talking about. (u couldn’t follow my suggestion?)

Timb. Try the OP.

He’s talking about the very first link he posted in the thread and he expects you to go all the way back to the beginning to find it.

Mrnina - as the moderator, are you saying this is unreasonable?

I’m not saying it’s either reasonable or unreasonable, just stating what I think you’re saying you’re wanting him to do.

“and he expects you to go all the way back to the beginning to find it”

The words expect and all the back that you choose to use, sounds like you do think it’s unreasonable.

Just asking for some honesty

I’m a Betazoid, of course I’m being honest. Seriously though, I am just stating what I think you expect him to do, not whether or not I think it is reasonable.

Player has been blocked. I don’t think much more explanation is warranted but I’ll consider any feedback. The decision is not something we take lightly. We like to keep things lively but there are limits.

Yipes, I missed all the excitement.

Sorry I get a little short, been learning about it (and upset by it) since the early 1970s and science classes. I expected the evolving evidence would bring people around - instead it drove them into absolute disconnected lalaland so much that a crazy man like trump and his oligarch enablers, seems to have free reign to do whatever the hell he wants with our country.

∏, I’ve read enough of your things to know you are serious and sincere - I’ve dealt with too many deliberate deceivers so I have taken on too rough an edge - and forget how shielded many are thanks to corporate media and deliberate calculated misrepresenting the science, and adding massive doses of malicious slander into their bargain.

My only question is how severe is it and what’s the time-frame for it to take place.
It depends on where you live. The destruction is already happening, we are in the age of increasing extreme weather roulette, and speed of impacts will hugely depend on the locations of future destructive event's. I mean category 3 or 4 heading straight up the Potomac River during leap tide, will have way more rippling impacts than that same storm a few hundred miles south.

The tragedy about doing something about it now, is that at this point we are fighting to avoid impacts that will happen after we are gone but that will be the difference between extreme biosphere disruption to absolute disruption such as the The Permian–Triassic extinction event.

In the pipeline right now we have plenty enough to destroy society as we know it in the next few decades.

I know you didn't mean anything negative. How people write gives a good indication of their personality and I've read more than enough of your stuff to ever think you were being impolite.

Two nights ago a local town smashed their record low temperature. The previous low was -7.6deg.C and it got to -19.5degC Sunday night (yes, those are minus signs.)

The term ‘global warming’ has screwed up the fight for climate change because too many people think it simply means we’ll get longer, nicer summers, which is great when you live in a place where it’s winter over half the year.

Alberta weather is famously variable, with chinook winds and thunder storms and hail and extremes of hot and cold, all in a day. Anyone living around here who doubts climate change will be seeing nothing unusual if the weather gets radical, since that’s the norm.

I listen to CBC in the mornings and on the way home from work, and they often have guests on to talk about climate change. I have to turn it off sometimes because I get so stressed out from hearing the dire consequences, yet knowing none of my friends will ever do anything about it. It’s very uncomfortable to momentarily hate all of your friends!!

May you be serene in accepting what you cannot change, courageous in changing what you can, and wise in knowing which is which.

Yeah science communicators really really failed by not conveying a more accessible understanding of Earth systems - not to mention stressing the differences because understood certainties in the face of trivial uncertainties.

That surely is where we're at. It's what I strive for in-between the panic attacks when the news brings up one aspect or other that drives home the speed of change and implications for the future, to me. If I didn't have some really good breaks in my life that have filled it with good people, places and experiences, hate to think what basket case or shit head I'd be. But a lot of mental, emotional, spiritual Calisthenics is certainly need for an Earth Centrist.

Sometimes I even wonder why write/talk about it anymore, so many tipping points have been passed, but then it comes down to believing honestly is the best policy. Obvious a personal choice. I used to think it was a societal thing - but looking at Republicans these days, obviously honest (ethics, fair-play, etc) doesn’t mean a damned thing to them, so it must be purely personal.

You got to stop listening to Fake News because you are beginning to sound like Fake News.

The Repugs are in climate denial, so one can’t believe a word they say and if one listens to Faux News, then they are listening to fake news. Climate Change is real and eventually, if we don’t make changes soon, the planet will be even more difficult to live on for humans and if there are any other animals left on the planet, besides the human species, they will be few and far between. The Repugs, other Climate Change deniers, and Faux News need to wake up.
