I just want to park this here for easier reference and see if anyone has a comment. I picked up a book with an entry from this guy while I was on a boat in the Galapagos earlier this year. Most of the books were scientific but this one was about spirituality. It included some Peruvian shaman types, so I guess that’s how it got on their shelf. He had this theme of how all the other sources of knowledge mess with our psyche or something, but if you can get “direct experience” of reality, then you’ll heal all of that.
It’s my goal in life is to get one person who spouts this crap to admit they are full of it and just taking people’s money and giving them nothing. It’s been a week. I’m not holding my breath.

My question to him
The “direct experience” statement is the one I found in a book with an essay by you. I still don’t get how you can say this overrides everything else we know about the world. To show that your direct experience is in line with reality, you would need to show what is real. You can’t show me that via your dreams, since those are your experience. You might arrive at truth via direct experience, but you might not, and how would you know truth from fiction once you arrived?
