Gorsuch criticizes Trump, but is it genuinely critical or a ruse?

Supreme Court nominee Gorsuch calls Trump’s tweets ‘disheartening’
Sen. Richard Blumenthal said, “I said to him if a litigant before your court – and the President of the United States is in fact a litigant right now in the immigration ban cases – said what President Trump said, you would hold him in contempt of court,” . . . . adding that Gorsuch did not give a response to that comment.

Gorsuch seems to be saying what would be considered the right things under normal circumstances, but I’m suspicious. Is Gorsuch playing to the Democrats, trying to look unbiased, in the hopes they’ll be more likely to vote to confirm him? I am disheartened, too–so disheartened that I wouldn’t put anything underhanded past a Republican these days. I don’t like being so unrelentingly negative, but I can’t help it considering Trump’s outrageous condiuct, statements and cabinet choices since he won the presidency.
All of the comments here are worth reading.

Probably a ruse, but that’s how the game is played.

The question is, now that the Democrats screwed their chance of getting Garland on the bench, what good will it do to obstruct Gorsuch?
Think Trump would come up with anything better if Gorsuch gets rejected? Or would it wind up being even worse,
since the Republicans have demonstrated they are absolutists with complete disregard for anything getting close to ‘fair-play’ -
they have eyes only for a white christian nation for the ultra-rich.
It’s very foolish to squander one’s opportunities because of shit poor vision - now were stuck with a limp one in our hand and nothing to do with it.
