The collapse of the Roman Empire is an obvious example.
were the last Romans worshipping progress or holding on to a broken ideology of their own prowess.
America barely got a draw in Korea, obviously lost in Vietnam and has done nothing but bully the weak since.
To talk about the subject “memory driven critical thinking”. The teaching of the children is the best place to start. Talking about our accomplished thinkers. Would be like talking about the race car drivers when we should be talking about the race car builders.
Would you agree that memory is controlled by a gene? We cannot teach somebody to be taller. So, there are boundaries that we must work within.
AI - Importance of Memorization: Memorizing large quantities of doctrinal information was a crucial part of the learning process in ancient India, and this tradition carried over into early Buddhism.
All early education teaching methods were in some form based upon memory. What was so important that people would go to extremes to memorize? Would you agree that would be human knowledge?
As new knowledge is built upon older knowledge. Mankind’s timeline for written knowledge does not make logical sense. Unless earlier mankind was hyperthymesia, (HSAM) Highly Superior Autobiographical Memory.
Looking back on early history. Or do we have that capability yet? Show me a timeline in history that is anywhere close to being correct that can outline the age of domestication.
Example. A decade ago, or so on this site, I was talking about the cradle of civilization not being in the fertile Crescent. The accepted facts were that movement out of Africa only started 40,000 years ago. That did not work with the various timelines that I was using on subjects like burial methods and the age of domestication. Today, mankind’s movement out of Africa suggesting dates going back 300,000 years.
Historical facts that I work with. God is just a translation in early history and pre-history that means “knowledge”. The book of Genesis tells us that as the domestication of humans was taking place. The people with hyperthymesia abilities were blessed with the Holly Grail (memory). As the number of people with hyperthymesia abilities were reduced by crossbreeding (The Nephilim in Genesis 6:1-4:). A written language became a necessity.
Point being. It is looking like we have the capabilities today to insert the hyperthymesia abilities back into our gene pool. In the meantime, we should be working to implement the phonetic alphabet that has been developed and proven to have the ability to eradicate illiteracy.
I believe it is likely that anyone who dreams can imagine solutions to our problems if they understand the mechanics of the process.
It is not magical thinking or only possible in science. But it does need the kind of data sharing that functions in science.
“I am enough of the artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.” Albert EINSTEIN
I totally agree. Today knowledge is much more available and is now debatable whether it is a commodity or not. In understanding ancient history. You should always look at knowledge as a major commodity of the time.
The process of acquiring knowledge through education today is not solely about acquiring a commodity, but also about personal development and growth.
AI - In conclusion, while the concept of “knowledge as a commodity” has evolved, in ancient times, the limited access, secrecy surrounding valuable information, and higher barriers to entry for acquiring knowledge suggest that it was treated more like a valuable and scarce resource, giving it a higher “commodity” feel compared to the relatively open and accessible nature of knowledge today.
I think modern history and past history have shown us that people that are literate have better chances of using knowledge as a commodity.
So, why doesn’t our education system pour the foundation for the students to use knowledge as a commodity? The education system seems to have taken the easy way and only accelerate in personal development and growth in the inner city and union controlled education systems.
