Can you find the defining trait amongst Trump supporters?

What are you doing, trying to wear me out with BS stuff?
No, I am trying to figure out why you think Trump is qualified to be president. You have provided no facts, just unsubstantiated assertions. Don't forget Trump was a leader in the Birther movement and is a global warming denier. I don’t know what the Birther movement is. And I am glad you said Global Warming instead of Climate Change. All this is OK with me. Unless you have Jesus Christ running, I want somebody that is not perfect. That way I know we have more than just a figure head for lobbyists and a thousand lawyers. The person that doesn’t screw up and never pisses anyone off. Well that person is most likely not doing anything. We need someone who will get things done in Washington.
Why am I not surprised that Mike Yohe is now sounding like Ayn Rand?
Is that good or bad? And who is Avn Rand?
... Did you pick up the Egyptian lead for the Flat Tax? No bites.
No. But the (Egyptian Pharoah) idea of having a capitalistic system in which the wealth is redistributed every 20 years, is interesting. I can't imagine that happening in a democracy. It could only occur in a dictatorship, I think, or some kind of dictatorship/monarchy. And would be too chaotic to implement with today's complex inter-relationships of economies in the world. I didn't pick up on anything about a flat tax. But I think that a flat tax on income is inherently unfair. A flat tax on real wealth, OTOH, would be fair, but probably impossible to implement, and possibly detrimental to economic growth. So I favor the current progressive income tax, but with the wealthiest entities actually paying a disproportionately higher percentage of tax on income. Most small businesses would not be paying disproportionately higher percentages, because most small businesses are not among the wealthiest of entities. In fact the progressive tax, if actually implemented, would level the playing field, to some degree, with their big business competitors.

The difference on looking at the Flat Tax today is that many businesses can and will move off shore. We need a system that will compete globally. I saw on the news today where DC is now paying criminals not to commit crimes. Yep, writing them a monthly check not to commit crimes. How in the hell can any FAIR system be put together in this type of environment? As far as the progressive tax. I have to say that is does lean towards what the Pharaohs were doing. Taking from the rich and allowing the poor a chance to become wealthy.

Mike I'm neither for or against this program first off. Never heard of it until now. But I have a question for you. What if it was found that the criminal-stipend program was more cost-effective in reducing crime as opposed to the traditional methods of task-forces, jails, a segment of policing, rehab programs, administrative costs etc.... Would you be for it then? If it was objectively found to be more effective and cheaper than other methods? And I'm not saying it is or isn't.

Should I be surprised that Mike doesn't know who Ayn Rand is? Should I believe he doesn't? He can't be following politics, since Rand Paul and Paul Ryan and a few others are well known in their support for her ideas. Her parents escaped communist Russia. In the 50's, she wrote a fictional book about the dangers of socialism. It's theme was that there are lazy people and governments that support them, and there are a few people who know how to run things and they are the only hard working ones. In the book, those hard workers turn their backs on the world, and literally sabotage their own machinery because they don't think they are getting rich enough by being the ones who own that machinery. In the end, they are watching, happily, as the world collapses. You're supposed to believe that once everything is sufficiently destroyed, they will come back and fix it all.

They were a well to do family, ("Born February 2, 1905, to a Russian Jewish bourgeois family living in Saint Petersburg.") who had the state take away everything her parents built up, and then they had to flee or even worse would have happened to them. That's enough to tweak any teenagers mind. Then she discovered her crowd and celebrity status, it went to her head and pushed everything else out of that little bourgeois mind of hers.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ayn_Rand Early life Rand was born Alisa Zinov'yevna Rosenbaum (Russian: лиа Зиновьевна Розенбаум) on February 2, 1905, to a Russian Jewish bourgeois[12] family living in Saint Petersburg. She was the eldest of the three daughters of Zinovy Zakharovich Rosenbaum and his wife, Anna Borisovna (née Kaplan), largely non-observant Jews. Zinovy Rosenbaum was a successful pharmacist and businessman, eventually owning a pharmacy and the building in which it was located.[13] With a passion for the liberal arts, Rand later said she found school unchallenging and she began writing screenplays at the age of eight and novels at the age of ten.[14] At the prestigious Stoiunina Gymnasium, her closest friend was Vladimir Nabokov's younger sister, Olga. The two girls shared an intense interest in politics and would engage in debates at the Nabokov mansion: while Nabokova defended constitutional monarchy, Rand supported republican ideals.[15] She was twelve at the time of the February Revolution of 1917, during which she favored Alexander Kerensky over Tsar Nicholas II. The subsequent October Revolution and the rule of the Bolsheviks under Vladimir Lenin disrupted the life the family had previously enjoyed. Her father’s business was confiscated and the family displaced. They fled to the Crimean Peninsula, which was initially under control of the White Army during the Russian Civil War. She later recalled that, while in high school, she determined that she was an atheist and that she valued reason above any other human virtue. After graduating from high school in the Crimea at 16, Rand returned with her family to Petrograd (as Saint Petersburg was renamed at that time), where they faced desperate conditions, on occasion nearly starving.[16][17] The Twelve Collegia of what was then Petrograd State University Rand completed a three-year program at Petrograd State University. After the Russian Revolution, universities were opened to women, allowing Rand to be in the first group of women to enroll at Petrograd State University,[18] where, at the age of 16, she began her studies in the department of social pedagogy, majoring in history.[19] At the university she was introduced to the writings of Aristotle and Plato,[20] who would be her greatest influence and counter-influence, respectively.[21] A third figure whose philosophical works she studied heavily was Friedrich Nietzsche.[22] Able to read French, German and Russian, Rand also discovered the writers Fyodor Dostoevsky, Victor Hugo, Edmond Rostand, and Friedrich Schiller, who became her perennial favorites.[23] Along with many other "bourgeois" students, Rand was purged from the university shortly before graduating. However, after complaints from a group of visiting foreign scientists, many of the purged students were allowed to complete their work and graduate,[24] which Rand did in October 1924… Arrival in the United States A brown book cover with black-and-white drawings and text in Russian. The drawing on the left is a portrait of a woman with dark hair; the drawing on the right is of skyscrapers. In the autumn of 1925, Rand was granted a visa to visit American relatives.[30] She departed on January 17, 1926.[31] When she arrived in New York City on February 19, 1926, she was so impressed with the skyline of Manhattan that she cried what she later called "tears of splendor".[32] Intent on staying in the United States to become a screenwriter, she lived for a few months with relatives in Chicago, one of whom owned a movie theater and allowed her to watch dozens of films for free. She then set out for Hollywood, California.[33] ...

The numbers probably do show a cost savings over the high jail costs, but the government programs have a history of starting out good, only to end up being top heavy in costs in a few years. That makes no difference to me. Wrong is wrong. What this program did is give Trump a million more votes. How many years and how much money has already been spent on education for these criminals? When is enough, enough? One question would be how many of these criminals would be working and not stealing if they could get a job. The jobs they normally would get are already taken by illegals.

This is another unsubstantiated assertion.

If it makes no difference then why bring it up?
How many years and how much money has already been spent on education for these criminals?
You're the one who brought it up. If you don't know the answer then you are forming your opinion without facts.
When is enough, enough? One question would be how many of these criminals would be working and not stealing if they could get a job. The jobs they normally would get are already taken by illegals.
How can they get jobs without education? We should provide free education to everyone for as long as the maintain their grades. Democracy depends upon an educated citenzry after all.
It said right in the news piece that upon hearing of the alleged incident his first words were.."That would be a shame." So that's condemning the behavior.
It is standard journalism practice to use the word "alleged" until someone is convicted. Helps prevent libel lawsuits when people are found not guilty. I learned that in Journalism 101. Saying, "That is deplorable" or something similar would be condemning the behavior. "That would be a shame" is a pretty lame condemnation.
Secondly, describing his supporters as passionate, does not in any way imply any approval to the assault.
Of course not. It's his weak response, "That would be a shame" then going on about his supporters' passion instead of telling people to quit assaulting others that lends tacit approval to their actions. This is not the first time Trump supporters have attacked someone, and he has never spoken against those who do.
You just don't like the way Trump answered questions..as if he has to answer questions from the press to satisfy your narrative.
Of course I don't like the way Trump answers questions. Have you listened to the man's responses? He says whatever comes out out of his tiny brain without filtering it.
It's election time. The press is doing hatchet jobs all over the place.
No hatchet jobs needed. Trump's words indict him.
I don't like the way the press is printing and airing stuff about Bernie, but what can I do. I know there's an agenda. When you can't read the news through the agenda, then we have to listen to your rants on this forum.
If you don't like my rants then provide some evidence that Donald Trump would make a good president. Absent that I'll settle for evidence he is a decent human being,
So you've gone from...."giving tacit approval of the assault"...to..."Trump lacks empathy". You've committed multiple fallacies. 1. Misrepresentation 2. Appeal to what you think is correct based on stated biases..despite conflicting information. 3. Inductive 4. Cherry-picking
I did not misrepresent anything. Of course I appeal to what I think is correct. That is known as an opinion. How is inductive a fallacy? If you mean inductive reasoning that is simply looking at the evidence and reaching a probable conclusion. I can see how you my think I'm cherry picking by using just one quote, but I do not have time to look up all the outrageous things Trump has said and all the lies he tells. Politifact.org has an overview of Trump's truthiness]. they rate his statements true or mostly true six percent of the time, whereas he rates mostly false, false or pants on fire 77 percent of the time. When discussing these issues online it is easy to lose the big picture and focus on picayune points. I used the assault reply as an example of Trump's lack of empathy and sociopathy. I have disliked the man for a long time, and the more he opens his mouth in public the less I like him. He is spectacularly unqualified to be president. You dismiss his business failures as the responsible thing to do, but good businessmen do not repeatedly drive companies into bankruptcy. Trump has gamed the system to his personal benefit and to the detriment of investors who treated him. He is a megalomaniac and a sociopath. We do not need another on of those in the Oval Office.

Yeah, in what sense? In the sense of giving Darron a hard time. I think he triplicated his last post and deleted only one of them.

Or maybe quadruplicated. I don’t know. I’m getting dizzy.
