Animated story of Samson from the Bible

This is highly satirical:

and IMHO very well-done. Well worth watching and sharing.
It’s in 3 parts, so don’t neglect to watch them all if the first catches your fancy.

What?!! Where are the worldwide demonstrations against this embarrassing and offensive portrayal of a Jewish/Christian icon? Should the cartoonist be wary of being murdered by Jewish and/or Christian fundamentalists?

Remember how the church burned heretics alive? How they persecuted the likes of Bruno and Galileo? No different. It's just that Islam is about 500 years behind in their brutality, and unfortunately have access to technologies their equivalent Christians didn't have access to.

Remember how the church burned heretics alive? How they persecuted the likes of Bruno and Galileo? No different. It's just that Islam is about 500 years behind in their brutality, and unfortunately have access to technologies their equivalent Christians didn't have access to. Mass media and public education tends to have a moderating effect on the power of religious dogma to promote atrocities. It doesn't seem to have effectively moderated the actions of a portion of Islamists. Islam doesn't get a 500 year pass, because they got a later start. It should moderate much more quickly than Christianity did without the advantage of worldwide education and communication. But factions of Islam are not moderating, I think, because the doctrine is so much more easily and directly interpretable to support violent action. Note the relative dearth of extremist Christians who are murdering folks while yelling "Jesus is Great!" in our modern world.

Who’s giving them a pass? What some Islamic countries are behind in is a rule of law. Their religious leaders influence their political leaders, just as they do in every other country in the world, they just are able to wield more influence because the government is 500 years behind. Note that the men in Paris are not called terrorists, they are called criminals, they were treated like criminals, not like members of religious organization that has special privileges. That’s the old world meeting up with the new.

This time, the book of Job.

That site has some funny stuff. Did you watch the one titled Christian vs. Muslim? Who knew that fundamentalism could inspire love?

Tangent - If you’ve never seen the Cecile B Demille version of Samson and Delilah you might be surprised. It’s one of my favorite movies. Sure it’s dated, and overly Hollywood. But Victor Mature does a great job and the underlying theme…someone who has the courage of his convictions fighting for the little guy, is a good one.

Nothing to do with history, though, or reality. Lois
