Nor condone it, I presume.
Oh hell no! I hoped you knew me better. Sanity intact here.
HC??? Why do you lie to yourself? There is no left within the political class of USA , France etc.
Maybe people are sick of being served the manure that things are ok. Are you a bidenomics guy?
They are touchy about cursing over here, once in a while I slide one in, sometime I sneak by, other times I get spanked. Welcome to the club.
I think your comment was born in enthusiasm so no offense taken by me.
Sorry, I thought H-E double hockey sticks was permitted everywhere. Noted
The above “cool it” is attached to zedenkos post
Whew! Thanks. @citizenschallengev4 had me worried.
CC gets away with more. He has earned magical dispensation points that only mods know how to get them or how many anyone has.
ROFLMAO! I’ve had 6 COVID vaccines since they came out and my husband has had 5. We aren’t zombies. I don’t know how or why people believe such things.
Same here. It seems our schools are not teaching critical thinking skills.
The one thing I often heard college professor complain about was that schools below the college level didn’t teach students how to think. They taught them what to think, but not how to think, so profs had to teach thinking skills before they could actually teach.
Yipes, sorry Lausten, I saw that right under coffee’s comment, now that I look real carefully guess there is a line just above the blue mod box.
My bad!
Sorry. I appreciate you cutting me some slack and will do my best not to abuse it.
I thought the same thing, CC. No worries.
The bottom of a post is menu of options for editing, getting the link etc. Then there’s a line. Mod comments are at the top of a post.
One quote from Abnousse Shalmani:
If spirituality takes power anywhere, it’s moral order, and then it’s arbitrariness. Because moral order is necessarily arbitrariness: to condemn people, to separate people.
Original: “Si la spiritualité prend le pouvoir où que ce soit, c’est l’ordre moral, et là c’est l’arbitraire. Parce que l’ordre moral c’est forcément l’arbitraire: pour condamner les gens, pour séparer les gens.”
Well, that can be true. Or it can be false (if it does not define a moral order).
E.g., I used to think Buddhism might be a nice philosophy to follow. Then I saw a great documentary about blind kids climbing a mountain. I was shocked to discover that these kids were heavily discriminated against. Why? Because since they are blind they must have been a terrible person in a past life.
What is the highest, most fundamental principle?
Recognition and self-awareness of our existence.
Honoring the extraordinary evolutionary history of life and living organisms
from potential (the Implicate Order), to expression in reality (the Explicate Order).
IMO, this is a Bohmian concept. I think David Bohm was an intellectual giant.
To enjoy the passage of time.
By definition, mine would be a happy society!
