Welcome to all of you

I am a secular humanist, and though while I am able to attend Unitarian Universalist churches, I am pas the point of caring to define myself in even those religious terms. I use quite a good deal of differing topics to use Rational Emotive Therapy by late CFI fellow DR. Albert Ellis and this gives me reason to investigate many off topics. Using RET gives me the chance to investigate many normally off topics that secular humanists won’t look at. Questioning everything is one way to keep in mental shape; I have ended up here.

I am not aware of any information that would indicate the Dr. Ellis was ever defined legally or otherwise as a sex predator. If you have any creditable proof, please offer that to me, and to the entire CFI online community such as the Forum.

Choosing reality doesn’t mean a sense of wonder that could include the fact of hyperspace as a naturally occurring continuance of existence if and when we have proof that is repeatable, but still without some body in charge, is lost.

Did Albert Ellis invent this in response to being a sex predator .?

writing in his autobiography that he became addicted to frotteurism at the age of fifteen, and claimed to have had “had hundreds of frotteur-incited sex adventures” until his twenties. He reported that he "sought out crowded trains, standing rooms in the back of movie theaters, crowded elevators, and other places where I could rub my midsection against women’s backsides and hips and soon get delicious orgasm.” Stating that the encounters were “sometimes nonconsenting,” Ellis wrote, “I am now, when I think about it, guilty about my acts. I have remorse for what I did,” adding that, “I deplore the sin and accept the sinner.”

It’s worth mentioning he did this as a youth, although it continued into his twenties.

I wasn’t aware of Ellis’s peculiar penchant, but his RET stuff is spot on.

An awkward weirdo who had to invent REBT to overcome his inability to talk to girls. And there is more

Being so arrogant and insufferable made it very difficult for his theory to be taken seriously, especially considering how simplistic it was. It is said that his obsession with sex was only superated by his obsession for himself. He thought very highly of himself, very little of everyone else,

Yipes! But it works.

This is what matters for me. I had been unaware of the matter regarding his earlier problems, but that doesn’t change the effectiveness for RET. There is a program in American Federal prisons that permanently cures prisoners of breaking the law, and they get out after turning themselves in atheists who obey the law. I have been in a similar vein. Only because it works I’m I still alive. Whether or not he had earlier problems I irrelevant to me since I live indoors rather than be homeless, and that matters.

Provide the evidence fan boy or this is another claim that can be thrown in the dust bin

The Federal Program is called Rational Living. It is a 9 month program inside a Federal prison in which people change themselves into atheists who obey the law, and then get out through a half way house program in which they live in a controlled environment for a year—followed by supervised by a parole officer–separate year outside the program. Since I am willing to look it up, I will at least google it to provide any information allowed outside of prisons.
