In fact, they are not unbelievers, they lie, deliberately. They are mad.

And they are criminals.

Fear of pushback from climate change deniers is a major contributor to climate silence.
An insidious aspect of misinformation is its potential to cancel out accurate information.

You hear my pain. Here’s a breakdown of the BS arguments that get endless repeated as people deliberately refuse to learn from the facts:

End Game (2011)

The establishment climatology community has come under attack and minute examination; an attack founded on political principles rather than a good faith desire for better understanding.
We have science associations, insurance associations, international bankers, military leaders and many more who have examined the issue with a skeptical eye tempered by responsibility. All accept the consensus of climatology experts. Shouldn’t that tell a skeptic something?

What these military experts are saying is that according to their own evaluation of all available scientific evidence backed by their own years of experience in the evaluation of information, climate change poses a security threat to the USA. It’s possible that this evaluation is wrong but, as with any good risk manager, the military doesn’t put all their eggs in the low probability “consensus is wrong” basket and hope for the best. >

Quite the opposite, in fact: the military plans for all possible scenarios, including the worst case. The question is, why isn’t the US government doing the same? By failing to plan for the worst case, and even for the most likely scenarios, they are putting our welfare and security at risk.

I tried connecting with a friend’s husband, knowing he is a crank, we managed for a few weeks, but he had, IN HIGH SCHOOL, done a paper on the “ice age is coming” thing. He could not let go of that. He said I was discounting science. The other day I heard a YouTube talking about this very thing and how, at the time, there were an overwhelming number of scientific papers saying the opposite. But, I don’t always have the facts I need when I need them, and I doubt it will make any difference to him anyway.

Anyway.

A couple of years ago, we saw in an unusually public manner, that the administration and congress don’t directly control the military. It’s better when all of them are in alignment, but military people understand that their oath is to the Constitution, not the current person sitting in any particular seat. Well, maybe not all of them. Anyway.

What I think we’ve lost recently, and it took a few decades, is the idea that after a politician wins their position, they now govern for everyone, not just the ones that voted for them, or worse, the ones who paid for them. The campaign and the horse race have become the goal instead of conducting the business of the country

That’s true enough. This next two years will be interesting watching how much vandalism the radical extreme right wing will be able to inflict on the House of Representatives and country in general.
