The Bible made me a Christian

People don't "convert" by reading the bible. They are indoctrinated into one of the religions supported by it. Reading it can bring people to their senses if they're open to seeing it as it is rather than how they were taught it is. Too many are not however. Lois
Agreed. Studying the Bible made me an atheist. Many of the Christians I know don't believe most of the crap in the Bible.

I heard a couple stories that made me rethink this a little bit. I think there might be a few people out there who read some holy scripture and find it beautiful in some way or another. These people probably don’t have good context for what they are reading, but that aside. What then happens is they go on to learn more from whatever holy leaders and find out there’s a completely different story, like Baptists hate Methodists, or just what “lie with a man” means.
They don’t get told this the first time they go to service, it happens slowly. That’s when it gets ugly.

Agreed. Studying the Bible made me an atheist. Many of the Christians I know don't believe most of the crap in the Bible. A good thing, too, or we'd have Christian as well as Islamic terrorism to contend with.
