Fun story for you music fansI'm almost ashamed to say I do remember him--and his wife, Mary Ford. I used to see them on television in the 50s. Did you know he badly injured his arm at the elbow and was told it would have to be fused and that he could choose it to be fused hanging straight down at his side or crooked in the guitar-playing position. Of course, he chose the guitar-playing position. I forget which one, probably his right arm. The Les Paul and Mary Ford were some of my favorite 45's, do you remember "Tiger Rag"? Pity I lost them along with a lot of other 45's in my old house, but I can still find them on You Tube. Another interesting fact, Les Paul pioneered over dubbing, where they would record one part and then re record another part with it, both instrumental and vocal. So Mary was singing harmony with herself. If I remember correctly the first pickups for an electric guitar by Les Paul, were crystals from a phonograph recording arm, that were taped inside the guitar body, with wires running to the amp.

Interesting. i didn't know that. i knew about the over dubbing and that it was something they pioneered. It was new technology at the time. Yes I remember Tiger Rag very well. LoisI'm a bit younger and listening to it on you YouTube the light went on… "Oh, the Save the Tiger song" :lol:
