I stumbled on a fantastically fascinating and informative website that I would love to share with Write4U - it’s an example of what science is about, discovery and learning. Clockwork great visuals accompanied by informative dialogue.
The Incredible Mechanics That Make You Hear
How does sound actually get inside your head? How can little vibrations in the air turn into nerve impulses? Let’s meet the 100 nanometers of protein that connect you to sound
Where the Light Touches Your Eyes|Phototransduction and Rhodopsin
Your visual system is astounding down at the molecular level–because the photoreceptor cells in your retina maintain an incredible balance of proteins that allows for an incredible visual range. Let’s meet rhodopsin, the molecular worker at the core of your visual system. We’ll discover how light physically touches and changes you every time you perceive just about anything.
One great way you can also help out the channel is by joining our newsletter: https://bit.ly/watchclockwork Clockwork is produced using real molecular data thanks to the brilliant Molecular Nodes extension for Blender: https://extensions.blender.org/add-on…
These videos are valuable to me because they offer intellectual tools to better understand what’s happening deep within my body. Which in turn helps me to mentally visualize the insides of my body in action and get a sense of the incomprehensible complexity and density of the life within. Intellectually overwhelming, even pushing meta-physical challenges, that are, for me, far more fascinating than religion’s unavoidably contrived and self-serving forms of mysticism, that remain trapped within the confines of our imaginations.
I love having a touchstone with actual physical reality.
