House Republicans Decide Scientists Know Too Much About Science

Link
Damn scientists and their . . . science-y brain-knowing. Who needs them to advise and comment on their own research? Not the EPA. That’s for sure. It needs more corporate shills. Shills for everyone!

Hey DM, glad to see you back on the forum! How are things on the mitten? Speaking of wackos in the House, and there are new ones now, they don’t hold a candle to the former CHAIR of the Senate committee on Environment and Public Works Jim (God’s still up there) Inhofe. The Senate’s first and foremost climate denier. He’s backed by big oil and coal, and of course the Koch bros. This guy, spouts Xtian lit. To back his claims that climate change is a “Liberal” plot and likens us to the Nazis because we want to take away his buddy’s right to make tremendous profits while polluting the hell out of the environment. And Oklahomans voted for this clown!

Cap’t Jack

Is he one of those wackos that says we wouldn’t need to worry about messing up the climate (which, of course, we’re not) because God would just fix it for us?
As for things in Michigan: cold, very cold. We’re having an unseasonably cold cold spell right now. At least it’s not snowing.
EDIT
Fixed a stupid, and weird, autocomplete from my phone.

Hey, at least it’s not Buffalo! 7 feet of snow and more coming. Then the melt off.
Cap’t Jack

No kidding. It’s freaking insane there.

Yes it is. Sorry DM missed this thread last night, (my first chance in days to look in on CFI), but I certainly agree with you http://www.centerforinquiry.net/forums/viewthread/17545/ :-/

To be clean Inhofe is still a force to be reckoned with, the insane pig got reelected by 68% - so there's much more damage left for him to inflict on our nation. http://www.motherjones.com/mojo/2014/10/republican-senator-inhofe-blocks-vital-funding-needed-to-stop-ebola
"… The ostrich-in-chief—and proud of it—is a former mayor of Tulsa, Oklahoma, who once compared the director of the EPA to Tokyo Rose and the agency to the Gestapo. If Republicans win the Senate on Tuesday, Oklahoma Sen. James Inhofe, now in his fourth term, is set to become the next chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, a position he held from 2003 to 2007, when the Republicans last held control. …" http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/11/04/if-you-think-d-c-is-awful-now-wait-until-wednesday.html

What the hell happened to Oklahomans? Did they just forget about the Dust Bowl? Doesn't anybody there remember Woody Guthrie's songs? Is another drought going to be what it takes to convince those knotheads that they put a fox in the henhouse? What an oxymoron (pun intended)! Cap't Jack
