Thanks - I live on 50 acres, so I do have a pretty big landscape. My partner is French, actually. From the south of France near Toulouse. We run our hobby farm together.
50 acres is a “hobby farm”?
Toulouse is a nice place, I’ve been there once
Yes, only 25 acres is fenced in pasture. We don’t grow annual crops. We do have an small orchard, though, but that’s not a lot of work. Other than that we have livestock animals. Cows, llamas, sheep, ostriches, camel, goats, etc. We sell the babies and make cheese and stuff.
Oh the easy stuff compared to raising seeds.
To be clear, that’s a joke, I helped with a couple horses for a few years, easy peasy. Except for the days you didn’t want to do, but sure as heck had to do it anyways, just because. So I hear cows, llamas, sheep, ostriches, camel, goats, etc. and . . .
Caring for babies and cheese making.
Very cool, hope to hear more about it. You know you can even post pictures here, see the square with the landscape in it, on the control panel.
Welcome to CFI
A while back I lived where the driveway wrapped around two sides of a field with three lamas. They are the haughtiest looking animals I can think of. I’d try to engage them and hopefully interact little with them when I’d walk past their paddock. It was and exercise in frustrating. I’ve never had an animal project the feeling of me being so total irrelevant, the way those lamas can. I don’t see the distain in those eyes up there, that I felt from my pals.
Your’s looks likes she actually sees you. Guess it must help to be the one bringing them their food.
Very cool pictures, they must keep you mighty busy. Is it pure hobby or do you have a little petting farm, or . . . ?
Llamas are interesting animals. Some days, they don’t want to have anything to do with me, and other days they will run up to me and want me to pet them and they will smell for treats.
Taking care of them is pure hobby. I technically have a little business selling the babies born, but it’s nothing significant. It’s just something I enjoy doing.
Welcome and speaking of llamas… I LOVE THIS COMMERCIAL and I don’t usually watch a commercial:
I guess, if you don’t know or can’t understand the words it’s ¿Mamacita, donde esta Santa Claus? Translated Mama, where is Santa Claus?
Hello and welcome, how are you ?
