For a fact, when written the Second Amendment was needed. Long story short, as written it is no longer needed. In saying that I am not advocating that no citizen has the right to own a gun, but what kind and why should be limited. In the least we should tweak it greatly or totally re-wright it.

Well, having people's representative governments with a good deal of reasonable power is how civilized societies work, so that individual morons cannot have/do anything they want.
It’s hard to tell what’s conspiracy theory these days, but it does appear that Republicans are getting close to being able to hold a Constitutional convention. Why is it that other developed countries have a small fraction of the firearm deaths that the US has? Are people in other countries just that much better than Americans—more moral, mor sensible, less intent on criminal behavior? Canada has less than half the firearm deaths per 100,000 population than the US, and they have similar racial make up of its population and similar economic standards. Why do you suppose the rate is so much different in a neighboring country with a 3000 mile border with the US? What are the Canadians doing so right that the US is doing so wrong?
