Lest we forget that sexual “feel good” is an evolved quality and seems beneficial to the survival of species.
Review what I wrote, I think I remembered to mention those hormone driven influences, that influence a lot more than simply having sex or not.
I would think we both appreciate that our drives are way more complex than some simplistic procreation is all that matters attitude.
Human have evolved more facades, so “feel good” takes on all sorts of more complex nuances.

Absolutely correct. I live in the world my mind creates for me. You live in yours and it looks like our mindscapes are very much aligned. We just use different ways of describing details of our realities… 
I am puzzled - when I look at the top religions all I see is a King/Dictator demanding obedience and loyalty - all the words that are used are slave/servant words - “Commandments, submit, beg, mercy, judge, wrath, obey, forgive, Fear”
What Father would ask his son to kill his grandson and what son would hurry to obey?
And even the best of minds can’t see this?

Don’t understand why you are blaming the church - where are the educated? Why are we fooled this easily? There has been ZERO evidence for God, zip, nada and yet that has not stopped billions in believing the cheap easy promises being made by religions. Frankly, I see no difference between Cults like Heaven’s Gate and most religions. Both promise a wonderful life AFTER Death - when they know none of their tall promises can be verified
But they keep getting willing followers who are more than happy to overlook all the doubts and their failures. The problem is within us, with us

We have moved forward in all areas of life except for religion - our society has moved forward from a primitive, agrarian society to a suit-wearing fast moving society where less than 2% are involved on agriculture. Newton, Freud have been left behind, the old ideas are discarded to make new, but when it comes to religion the same old ideas are regurgitated!
Primitive people living under Kings/Dictators used them as a template for God - just like the Kings/Dictators of old and the Putins of today, he demands obedience and loyalty to him and him alone and rewards(Heaven)/Punishes(Hell) accordingly

Thank you glad to be here - hope I won’t get censored as I usually get when I talk of religion - amazing how religion has gotten good at censoring any criticism of it under the guise of “respecting religious sentiments” funny that we never hear of “respecting Scientific sentiments” or “Liberal sentiments” or “Conservative sentiments” lol
But I don’t know if I ever answered the initial question - who is God? Clearly God is man-made - I doubt that dogs or cats or Trees are asking who is God and why does he look like a man?
And in the 21st century, drum roll please, God is Putin!
Yes in the 21st century and in free societies God is a Putin!

This kinda sums up my position. (Some crude language)
He is funny and glad he is an Atheist and openly mocks God
But the platform to criticize Theism is limited - I don’t mock the concept of God but the hate that comes with these believers, so willing to hate all unbelievers
It’s one thing for such hate to exist back in the day in medieval times when any stranger could be trouble but to see the same hate being so pervasive today is hard to take
My efforts to get published has not gone well - almost all the main media - i don’t even attempt to contact the conservative media - but even the liberal media refuse to entertain any criticism of Religion
Yes and he does this without any hate. The hate comes with being a Theist and burning apostates at the Stake.

I would not limit to abrahamic religions… Buddhists and Hinduists have shown that they can be violent.

There exists in the human mass a strong need for an authority that we can admire, before which we bow, by which we are dominated and even possibly mistreated. The psychology of the individual has taught us where this need of the masses comes from, it is nostalgia for the father. Freud Malaise in civilization
