You only have to look at the massive caldron forming around Kramatorsk and Sloviansk in Ukraine to see Russia is now on a new footing of muscle power concerning the war in Ukraine. (Sviatohirsk just taken by Russia as well, just north of Kramatorsk).
The gloves are off, massive continual attacks on Kiev, and on any NATO forces and warehouses hiding weapons in the country are being smashed. Odesa now shut down which is having enormous economic impact on the country and affecting incoming supplies as well. Ukrainians themselves are unsettled and becoming fed up with the coward and now vastly unpopular actor Zelensky and his goon squad that collect young Ukrainians off the streets for the front line; he is sealing his fate, something that could well be compared to that of Mussolini with a likely similar outcome.
Like Trump he resorts to delusion and megaphoned lies to keep the can rolling, but it’s clear to see that this will come to an end sooner than later.
The sheer level of military production and technological advance within Russia is phenomenal, and it is allied with North Korea, China, and Iran – all targets of US bullying. This is a massive block of technological knowhow, rapid production capacity, and combined resolve that is organizing in resistance US, as well as its co-dependent partner in marriage called Israel.
As such it is fair to compare Russia, backed by China, and the other countries I have listed above (and many potential others), resembling something of a copy of ancient Sparta while the US resembles Athens with its corrupt democracy during the Peloponnesian wars. Even sanctions cannot touch this block now since the power of US dollar trading is shrinking and being replaced by resistant alternatives. Note SCO has just met and we know little about what was discussed.
Iran is no different, America is not winning, concealment of damage done to its forces remains hidden.
For all this, the US and West has nothing but a plethora of lies and self-delusions to argue its continued self-assumed right to push its diminishing power over a world which it sees fit to bully, inflict war crimes, and resort to purely overt criminal theft out of desperation.
If I were to spend time assessing the military successes and failures in that war, I would not limit myself to one area. The overall strength and long term sustainability for Russian seem much more important. But I’m not going to do that. I only care that Putin is wrong and this war is madness.
