Train Meet.

Today is the first day of the biggest Train Meet in the world, and I will be set up right in the middle of it. If you are a TCA member and are attending the York show, stop and say hello, Blue hall, table E-57. So I will be just a bit busy and away from my computer for the next 3 days.

Wish I could make it. I have been a HO fan since childhood. At that time a friend of mine had a Marklin set. Beautiful stuff. The new 2015 Marklin catalogue is out. You can download the pdf from: http://www.marklin.com/ Are you familiar with AnyRail, track design program? : https://www.anyrail.com/index_en.html

FYI my plan is to model the B&O from Cumberland Md. to Connellsville Pa, selected scenes, not the whole route. I've seen some of the computer track planning programs, but I am a draftsman by training and I worked as one for several years, but not on a computer, I just missed that. So I tend to design and draw my own, it seems to suit me better. When I was growing up John Allen was featured on many of the Railroad Model Craftsman covers along with many articles about the layout. 2 questions, are you a TCA member, and do you live close enough to York to get there easily? The York TCA train meet is a closed meet, members and guests only.

Coming from Europe, I love trains and I admire te skill and patience of dedicated hobbyists. I am not a member of any organization, but am a subscriber to Alastair Lee's news letter. If your layout is available on-line, I'd love to get a link. I hope the exhibition is a great success.

So far I only have a couple pictures of my attic and none of the track I have down now. These were right after the house was finished and nothing was done yet on the layout, but I do have one loop of track around the outside walls. That's me standing in my attic, it has since been insulated, and I am in the process of providing heat and cooling. https://picasaweb.google.com/116019573962534142250/House?authkey=Gv1sRgCNX9mKDJ2Oiz7QE# Photo's 6 and 7 are of the attic.

First day went pretty good for a Thu. I’m not sure how today will go. Mostly I’m hoping to find people that are interested in the item that I make.
