> The Obama stimulus package was to save 2.3 million jobs. The Taxpayers invested $787B. It didn’t work. Obama spent $224B in extended unemployment benefits. Cut peoples taxes by $224B.

The Mike Yohe anomaly is that you know a few things, but then you seem to not understand much of anything. You jump very quickly from, "$X budgeted for Y program" to "it didn't work". I guess you missed the part where it isn't done yet. Or maybe the part where there is no consensus on whether or not it worked. Oh, that's right, you just pick the guys who agree with you, then say, "experts say" or "it's all over the news". No doubt, it was an unprecedented Keynesian move. Have you looked at the stock market and unemployment figures for 2008 vs 2016? As for me paying for it. I won't. The US government is not a household. The job of government is to grow the economy. They predict our ability to generate future revenue and make the proper investments. If we don't do that, the theory is, we'll fall behind the rest of the world. I don't know if it's right or not, but it's a high stakes game, and I think we have some pretty good people playing it at the moment. Mike is also ignoring that reality that the national debt is lower now than when Obama took office. Another Mike Yohe anomaly. You mean flat out lie? Why not call a spade a spade? I don't want the moderators to use their blue font at me, but Yohe is either a serial liar or disconnected from reality. He's smart enough to fool himself but most of us aren't falling for his nonsense.

What I find surprising is that no one in the Trump campaign (as far as I can tell) is making any attempt to distance the campaign from the Nazi party leader’s comments. I would think such an endorsement would be anathema to _any_ politician…

But then Trump is Trump and his followers are passionately self-certain and not interested in anything but what's spinning around in their individual heads. The real question is, how big a slice of America is that? Guess we'll find out in November.

>
> That statement is false. It betrays a fundamental lack of understanding of the difference between an irrevocable trait of birth as opposed to an ideology. That statement is a direct attack upon me, because I am pro white. According to LoisL's "logic" to be pro women is to be anti men. I am a man. I am ok being pro women because I am also pro men See http://www.huffingtonpost.com/amy-siskind/why-the-pro-women-movemen\_b\_602207.html If it is ok to be pro women, and it is, then it is also ok to be pro men and pro white and pro black, and we can be all of these things simultaneously without contradiction because these are not inherently opposed ideologies.

It's all about context, Stardusty, which I pointed out to you immediately and which you ignored in favor of taking LoisL's comment personally. You should look beyond yourself and realize there is an entire world out there filled with people who have different experiences than you. They come from different backgrounds and have been subject to different prejudices and oppressions. That's why there is a Black Lives Matter Movement and why there was a civil rights movement in the 1960s. White people have been suppressing, murdering and discriminating against blacks for our country's entire history and that continues today. As an individual you can say you are pro-white and not mean to discriminate against anyone else, but in the larger context of our society being pro-white is a code phrase for racists, especially when it comes from the mouth of the chairman of the American Nazi Party.

I've been wrong on all my predictions for a year so I'm reluctant to give another one, but Trump does seem to be polling poorly right now and his campaign management is in bad shape. I'm not so sure about polling anymore, but those are still bad signs for him. Good for the world though.

How much of that figure belongs to the government welfare programs for Oil companies and other mega-corporations? I was referring to Lausten remarks, you picked up his post and put it into the insight of the Republican mind. Tell me this, why do you even bother talking about Trump and his bad points? If you think they are so bad, then don't waste your time with Trump. It seems to me that you could be promoting Hillary. Talking about all her good point and all the none idiotic things she has done. That way I wouldn't get the feeling that the only way you can promote Hillary is to discredit Trump. That's diversion, not any attempt to answer the questions. _Oh yeah, that's Mike_

Kinda reluctant to jump here, since Stardusty seems impervious to logic, but I had a long thread with someone much smarter who didn't get "All Lives Matter" was a problem. It ended when his wife explained it to him, seemingly using the same arguments about a dozen of us made. Of course all lives matter, that's the point. There is a movement around "Black Lives Matter" because enough people seem to NOT know that "all" includes "blacks". I don't see any reason to make an effort to explain to Americans that "all" includes "white". Pretty sure they know that. Same goes for pointing out you are "pro-white", among being "pro" many other things. Unless someone accused you of being "anti-white", why bring it up? That's really the question. No one here questioned if Stardusty is "anti" anything until he brought up that he is "pro-white". Words have meaning, and when you say words, it means something. What he did was say words, then questioned everyone's reactions. He's never answered why he would point out that he's "pro-white". BTW, "I just am", is not answer, "FU that's why", is not an answer.

Speaking for myself, not CC, this election has come down to the choice of the lesser of two evils, as do most presidential elections. Bernie was my first choice, but given the choice between Clinton and Trump I'll take Clinton in a landslide. She isn't perfect of course, but she's a hell of a lot better choice than Trump. Court appointments matter, and Hillary at least pays lip service to global warming. I think you are going to be happy. Hillary is set to win. But forget global warming. If the country goes into a recession or if the dollar falls as the world’s currency. There is not going to be much the United States will be able to do. We will be sitting around drinking our twenty dollar cup of coffee talking about how we use to be able to buy breakfast for under a hundred dollars. I'm not too worried about that. Our country's economy has historically been better under Democratic presidents than when Republicans were in office, except when Jimmy Carter inherited a recession from the Nixon/Ford administrations. You are right. I don’t know how far back you followed the economy. But the government use to see inflation as a bad signal of harder times to come for the people. Now the government promotes inflation, inflation makes the government debt less and gives the government more money to spend. It seems like the proper thing to do would to connect the inflation index to all laws where money was involved. After all the government has got inflation target of 2% per year built into the system. One would think that one of the parties would pick that up as a political issue. But maybe it is just outside of the scope of what the general public can understand about how the government operates.

Keynes has never really been tested. The simple idea of pumping money into a slow economy kinda makes sense, but it also depends on the government getting out of debt when times are good. We did that after WWII, then Reagan spent it all on nukes and the Bushes kept throwing away more on the war machine, all the while cutting taxes. Republicans have quit calling for a balanced budget because we’ve all figured out they didn’t really want one, they never proposed one, their agenda was poorly hidden. Now they just complain about spending money on some unidentified lazy people and don’t say much at all about rich people’s children who have never worked a day in their life.
Not sure what Mike means by “connecting inflation index to all laws where money is involved", but if we did that, the minimum wage of $15 would be law already. So, I guess I’m for that.

The points I was trying to bring out is that in this high stakes game, we hold all the aces and make the rules because of the dollar. And we are all living better in the USA off the sweat of all the other nations using the dollar because we can just print as much as we want. If these other countries move over to the yuan, then it is no longer our game. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reserve\_currency Chinese yuan officially became a world reserve currency on November 30, 2015. It opened in fifth place as a world currency. Watch it move to number two in a decade.

No need to. Trump has opened the door to be able to exercise the First Amendment rights. That is all that is happening. There is no endorsement of the Nazi party going on. And the Nazi leader is right, the people will be now be talking more about issues that they were afraid to talk about before Trump crushed the political correctness barriers. Why would anybody want to give up their First Amendment rights? Without First Amendment rights, it is hard to have transparency.

Yes, I was talking about the inflation index. That index is not working as intended. It needs to be reworked. Working properly we would have a $15 minimum wage. But, that has to be done in congress. There’s the problem. All we can do in try and replace the congress and hope for a better congress.

What drives me to distraction about this sort of stuff is that it totally sidesteps what made growth so fantastic in the first place. It wasn't any government plan, or any plan of any kind. It was all about exploiting available resources, (unfortunately doing so as fast as absolutely possible) - and spending most of our energies on finding even faster ways to consume those ultimately limited natural resources. _includes varied "productive" landscapes minerals, forests, agriculture, animal production, clean sweet water, oceans and all..._ To mention a few examples, I'm sure you have read about the North Atlantic Cod fisheries and how they enabled massive slavery trade, because of the abundant and virtually unperishable food source dried cod. { **https://elvalleinformation.wordpress.com/salt-cod-slavery/** } Or the story of potatoes coming to Europe. Then the discovery of fertilizer and guano deposits on certain South Pacific island the multiplied production, more food, more kids, kingdoms grew prosperous and greedy, more soldiers, more wars. . . { **http://www.nytimes.com/2001/06/07/world/07BLIG.html** } But whilst no one was watching, those same prosperous deposits ultimately brought in the critters responsible for the potato blight, and all the changes that brought to the world. Or going back to the US, think about the reasons California become a state. I'm sure you get what I'm saying here, and that there are thousands of examples of how "Resource Base" enabled and then depletion ruining kingdoms since the dawn of time. The best ruler can't feed his people if the rains don't fall. Yet we didn't take any of those lessons **_to heart_**. The point is that no President has the ability to wave a wand and fix that problem and create more jobs. . Ain't fun, but that's still the reality facing younger generations - "facing" sounds so, so - shit they are going to be actually living through it, and this planet will be changing so radically these next decades its tragic. But the run away freighter don't stop for anyone's wishing.

> DarronS - 23 August 2016 07:26 AM That’s why there is a Black Lives Matter Movement

Black Lives Matter is a lesbian, anti-family, anti-law enforcement, victimology, self destructive, socially corrosive, radical hate group. Black Lives Matter exists because a very large segment of black American culture has degenerated so low that its members look outward to blame and to receive solutions, rather than looking in the mirror as to how dysfunctional they themselves are.

> Lausten - Kinda reluctant to jump here, since Stardusty seems impervious to logic,

I am impervious to illogic, which is almost certain to follow.

> There is a movement around “Black Lives Matter" because enough people seem to NOT know that “all" includes “blacks".

No, there is a Black Lives Matter because a very large portion of black American culture is in the grip of a victimology cult mindset and a large portion of white American culture suffers from self flagellating liberal white guilt.

> Same goes for pointing out you are “pro-white", among being “pro" many other things. Unless someone accused you of being “anti-white", why bring it up?

Because of this statement I strongly object to on its plain text meaning

> LoisL - to be “pro white" means you are anti anyone who does not fit the “white" description.

> He’s never answered why he would point out that he’s “pro-white".

This is what I mean about me being impervious to illogic, or in this case simply your lack of reading. I have pointed out this false and common notion that frequently gets pro white people like me called Nazi and racist falsely.

> LoisL - to be “pro white" means you are anti anyone who does not fit the “white" description.

For a very large number of liberals who suffer from disjointed thinking to be pro white means to be anti other races. LoisL has made a statement highly emblematic of the profound illogic which I am immune to and will vociferously object to every time it appears in print.

https://shoppers.box.com/s/w3dptq59xu793yy1vtsrtyb6mucaejbw Democrats bring deficits down, Republicans increase deficits because the Republican party is the borrow and spend party and the Democrats promote fiscal responsibility that cleans up the messes made by the Republicans.
