the original Christian pathway that was built on science.

Thanks for the clarification CC. When I said, “eugenics was a perverted act” I meant that eugenics was a perversion of the science of evolution. I don’t remember the names but it came about a generation after Darwin. It’s based on a simple and common misconception about evolution, that you can somehow control it. You can breed or manipulate genes for specific traits, but can’t control all of the environmental factors or predict effects into the future.

Eugenics was a red herring to the point I raised. I said that evolution gave us a way to understand where morals come from. That’s very different than science being able to inform us about what our morals should be.

Lol, science was invented in, I believe, 1572, so I find this claim to be a tad bit dubious given the age of Christianity and all.

Hmmm, I pulled out my Stein's Kulture Fahrplan and in 1571 Kepler's "Astronom" came out. - Also a topographic atlas of Netherlands was printed by Coiter.

1572 Bombelli published a technical Algebra paper and introduces imaginary numbers. Brahe discovered his supernova.

Heck the first scientific organization is dated at 1560 “Academia Secretorum Naturae

I always imagined the “invention” of science being a drawn out thing, possibly even spanning a couple generations and that an exact date is exceedingly difficult to settle on.

Other than that I agree with you Widdershins.

I’m sure you are right about it being a drawn out thing. To be perfectly honest I Googled when science was invented to come up with that year. I did know it has only been in use a few hundred years, but I couldn’t remember specifics. But yes, I’m certain someone didn’t just wake up one day with all the answers about how to find the answers by, and get this, never actually “answering” anything definitively. It seems counterintuitive that the best way to get answers is to never accept that you have “the answer”.

You might have a point. But if the object is to understand a situation to the best of our abilities, then it's a promising attitude to hold.
