I read the resolution, and i agree that at first sight, nothing is worth of voting against. May be i read too fast.
Naw, it is evident that the countries which abstained don’t support nazism and did that for political reasons. the european parliament has voted a similar text a few years ago.
What interests me is the US position against it. I understand the motive according to which freedom of speech in US forbids them to vote for the text, but i am wondering why they vote against it. they could have abstained.
Now 2 points:
- As said earlier, some of voting countries are strong hypocrites
- Once more, US conception of freedom of speech is very different in US than in Europe, but that's another topic.
