Jehovah's Witnesses instructional videos- inhouse "judicial case"

It’s a very weird world out there.
Any of you folks familiar with John Cedars? He does a good review.

Leaked Elder Videos - How elders treat 'sinners' and suicidal people - Cedars' vlog no. 15 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLBuulfOk40 Published on Feb 15, 2014 http://jwsurvey.org/cedars-blog/doubts-over-organizational-solidarity-as-disturbing-video-on-handling-suicide-is-leaked A contact of mine inside Watchtower has leaked two videos that were used during the 2012/2013 "Kingdom Ministry School" - a special training event for elders. The videos give a rare glimpse of how Watchtower wants its elders to go about their duties. Sinners are to be whisked through kangaroo courts where three elders act as judge, jury and executioner, and the accused/confessor cannot have access to all the guidelines by which he or she will be judged. Meanwhile, suicidal ones are NOT to be pointed towards professional counseling. Rather, they are to be given bible-based lectures, homework assignments, and urged to utter incantations.

It's sad that they're doing this, but it isn't against the law, so there's little anyone can do to prevent it. It sounds a lot like what Scientology does. Religious people are allowed to be self destructive. Lois

I really don’t know why they bother to “rehabilitate” the faithful when they know full well that only 144,00 will ultimately be saved from the fires of hell. It’s kind of like playing the powerball hoping to win millions, but knowing that the odds are against you.

At least it is being revealed. These things seem plausible to someone who has been thoroughly indoctrinated, but if you see this first, it is less likely you will even open the door to that witness in the first place.

First and worst things first…

  1. “I really don’t know why they bother to “rehabilitate” the faithful when they know full well that only 144,00 will ultimately be saved from the fires of hell. It’s kind of like playing the powerball hoping to win millions, but knowing that the odds are against you." thevillageathiest
The 144,000 are NOT the only people who will be saved during the 7 year Tribulation period. Many will confess Christ and be saved but many will pay for that faith through great persecution.
The 144,000 ARE converted jews who are sent out as evangelists to the remaining people left after the Rapture is done. A great merciful effort by God to save more souls during that time.
  2. Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormonism are not biblical Christianity. See/read a well researched book called “Kingdom of the Cults” by Walter Martin for the details/definition of a cult. He exposes the big ones that are common and other insights. We are currently, according to most Christian believers, in the prophetical end times and apostasy/false teaching is ramping up fast.

First of all where did you get the idea that he 144,000 are converted Jews? Where in Revelation (certainly not 7:4) does it even mention your contention that they will be evangelists? Certainly not the Watchtower which clearly states that heaven was closed in 1935? Yep, shut down for the rest of us. Makes you wonder what Charles Russell was thinking when he founded this cult. This number BTW as most Bible scholars contend was derived by taking 1000 and squaring it off by twelve which represent the twelve tribes. Actually one may interpret this particular book anyway you want due to it's vague statements which made reference to events within the time period it was written. Any attempt to overlay modern history and events to these so called predictions is no better than using Nostradomus to predict Hitler. And as to the "rapture", it was only mentioned once and vaguely. You've been reading too much Tim LaHaye nonsense. also, this from Beverly's book Religions A to z " witnesses teach that the Trinity doctrine is Satanic that Jesus was originally Michael the Archangel and that his second coming took place in 1914"! You missed the boat buddy, that ship has sailed! according to the Witnesses you've been rejected by God. Cap't Jack

Well THAT clears up any confusion! Lois

Well THAT clears up any confusion! Lois That's about all you can say, isn't it Lois? I've seen Christians slowly walk away from other Christians who start up these kinds of end times discussions. I have a book that lists a hundred or more end times scenarios. I was amazed at the variations for the ones that come from Revelations and Daniel. They all have names too, premillennial, postmillenial, dispensational, etc. Amazing that anyone takes it seriously
