Rape Oprah? How on earth can you imagine that considering your expressed distaste for that prehistoric woman?Okay i'm no expert, but seems pretty upfront that Rape is an act of violence and malicious hurtful domination and rage over personal shortcoming and other short circuits, not about appreciating beauty or taste.
Yes, CitizenChallenge, rape is an act of violence, but what I was thinking when I read Sree’s comment was that it was a very racist comment. Racism is also a form of violence.
I was impressed with Schiff’s final statement. He told it like it is.
...but what I was thinking when I read Sree’s comment was that it was a very racist comment. That's exactly how it seemed to me. My first impression was that it was a round-about way to relate a black woman to primates given that prehistoric man had more primate features. That is where we all came from, after all. Racists will always find a way around the social norms to say what they think, but in a way that they can later act indignant about it when you call them out on in. Republicans have been doing this for as long as I have been paying attention. I think they take courses on it or something.
Well, the Impeachment proceeding is done. T rump is acquitted, tho not exonerated. Mitt Romney voted to convict him. Mitt said that he did it because he had sworn an oath and his religion required him to abide by it. Otherwise, I think the vote was all partisan.
Let the names of all those who voted not guilty be enshrined in history as the enablers who helped put in place our first Dictator of the United States (DOTUS).
I agree TimB, the dotard is DOTUS and he’s getting worse. 31 lies in 35 minutes during his SOTD (State of The Dic[tator]ship). So the lies and propaganda have increased, the rush to allow polluters to destroy the environment and speed up climate change is increasing, and his hatred of others has increased via more countries banned from the U.S., and he’s isolating us more from other countries, as well as caging more children down near the border. He’s just going to get worse and unless we can vote him out in November, things will get worse. Even if we do vote the dic[tator] out of office in November, we maybe literally dragging him out of the Big House, because he won’t go willingly.
Mriana: ...but what I was thinking when I read Sree’s comment was that it was a very racist comment. Can you analyse it for me? How is it racist? I am attracted to money and Oprah's net worth is $3.5 billion.
The words I refer to that I consider racist you said https://centerforinquiry.org/forums/topic/high-crimes-and-misdemeanors/page/10/#post-320706
How on earth can you imagine that considering your expressed distaste for that prehistoric woman?
Prehistoric?
I even asked you about that in my next post after you said it
Prehistoric? How do you get that about Oprah?
The word “prehistoric” has nothing to do with money, but if you’re to use words that are perceived by others as racist, then it’s definitely not Oprah you’re attracted to.
TimB: “Mitt said that he did it because he had sworn an oath and his religion required him to abide by it.”
Mitt will do whatever the Mormon church leaders tell him to do. He knows if he doesn’t he will be out on his backside. He is still pissed big time that he didn’t get to be President or Vice-president. Check out Bain Capital and the spending for the 2002 Winter Olympics which were held in Salt Lake City, the capital of Utah and the home of the Mormon church. I find him one of the most disingenuous people in politics.
He and Trump fell out big time during the 2016 Republican nomination process.
Mitt Romney - Wikipedia "Romney publicly criticized Trump for not releasing his taxes, saying there might be a “bombshell” in them.[394] Trump responded by calling Romney “one of the dumbest and worst candidates in the history of Republican politics.”[393] Then Romney gave a speech on March 3, 2016, at the Hinckley Institute of Politics, that represented a scathing attack on Trump’s personal behavior, business performance, and domestic and foreign policy stances. He said Trump was “a phony, a fraud … He’s playing members of the American public for suckers” and that “If we Republicans choose Donald Trump as our nominee, the prospects for a safe and prosperous future are greatly diminished.”[395][396] In response Trump dismissed Romney as a “choke artist”.[396] Romney’s speech represented an unprecedented attack by a major U.S. party’s most recent presidential nominee against the party’s current front-runner for the nomination.[396][397][398] Romney encouraged Republicans to engage in tactical voting, by supporting whichever of the remaining rivals had the best chance to beat Trump in any given state. …Romney then announced that he would not support Trump in the general election, saying, “I am dismayed at where we are now, I wish we had better choices”.[ "
Trump and Romney supposedly made up but Trump gave the Secretary of State position Romney wanted to Tillerson instead. I’m sure Trump sees Romney as the snake in the grass he is and will try to eliminate from politics him as soon as he can.
A lot of former Repugs, now Trumpublican obsequious cucks, said similarly damning statements about T rump during the 2016 primaries. A LOT.
Good for Romney if he can maintain a wee bit of integrity, even if he has to have his Mormon God watching him to make sure he keeps his oath. His following statements in explaining his vote to convict T rump, are not based on superstition but on facts. :
"The President asked a foreign government to investigate his political rival.
The President withheld vital military funds from that government to press it to do so.
The President delayed funds for an American ally at war with Russian invaders.
The President’s purpose was personal and political.
Accordingly, the President is guilty of an appalling abuse of the public trust.
What he did was not “perfect”— No, it was a flagrant assault on our electoral rights, our national security interests, and our fundamental values. Corrupting an election to keep oneself in office is perhaps the most abusive and destructive violation of one’s oath of office that I can imagine."
Mriana: The word “prehistoric” has nothing to do with money, but if you’re to use words that are perceived by others as racist, then it’s definitely not Oprah you’re attracted to.Ok, it's your perception - of what I said - that led you to see me as such. Thanks for clarifying.
